What is applied learning?

Applied learning is an area of continued research and understanding, with many definitions and approaches. A common feature is that applied learning sees students use knowledge and skills to solve real world problems. It involves engaging in meaningful and authentic experiences both in the classroom and later in life. Students who engage in applied learning can demonstrate mastery of skills in new ways and gain practical application of new skills and knowledge. Applied learning can be integrated into existing subjects, extra curricular activities, internships and assessments.
